Yesterday I watched the movie "Beautiful Mind" and was inspired like I have never been! To know that this movie was a true story even inspired me more to up my game and start doing something valuable to change the world.
The movie (incase you hadn't seen it) is about a Mathematician "John Nash" who suffered a mental illness in which he wasn't able to distinguish reality from imagination. Yet, he won a Nobel prize for his discovery and theory in Mathematics.
The movie made me think. What limits us today from thinking of that great idea or that great theory. I came to the conclusion that our education system is just not structured to let our brain function as it should be.
We are asked to follow levels of education, stages, classes and a hierarchy system of knowledge. What we are missing out is that space to develop our mental capacity into what it should be. We never have the chance to explore into the science of our thinking. Off-course how would we have that chance when we did not learn to discover it. To us, it is the unknown. To a person like Nash, its his education.
In his story it was said that he use to not attend classes because he thought it is a waste of time, and instead he was out exploring and observing. Perhaps its about time the way education happens changed, perhaps then, we can say with pride we have thinkers, inventors, innovators and scholars.
Anyways Im sure I bore you by now, so I'll leave you with pictures of what I did today! I gave the supermarket a visit which was rather fun to do.
I say you should have bought a few chocolates!!!
ReplyDeleteThe mind is indeed beautiful and we should all take a minute and think how one can improve one's mind. I've only heard about the movie and it's great. It seems to have inspired something in you to chase after a dream. I hope your dream does come true.
As for the healthy lifestyle, i am backing you 100%. Although it wouldn't hurt to have some chocolate alongside the fruits and vegetables :p
I should have, but might as well fight temptations for the rest of the break!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes this movie did inspire me to explore my brain more =P!
