Thursday's #14

We are days away from a new year, 2011, will greet us pretty soon! This year has been one of the most influential in my life! I have met great people, learned a lot about myself, had relations grow & some shrink. Nonetheless, 2010 was a life changing year!

One thing that kept me going was believing in my dreams & that everything is possible. My resolutions in 2010 came true but one (having my own horse). I was able to accomplish everything I set from reading more books to becoming a better person to having great achievements!

Anyways, finding resolutions for next year was a bit hard. Given that 2010 topped up every plan I have set.

11 resolutions for 2011
  1. Stop wishing for a horse
  2. Master classical Arabic
  3. Start the journey of memorizing the Quran
  4. Learn manual photography
  5. Learn to use the darkroom
  6. Continue graduate studies
  7. Go on a trip around the world
  8. Build something with my own hands (Don't know what though)
  9. Put time for exercise (I get excited for a while but then stop, lack of motivation)
  10. Start my own thing (business or major project)
  11. Work on my hobbies
Enjoy your weekend and stay see you next year!

At the stables, the only place where my heart is stable

Look into my eyes, can you see?
Can you see how much....
You make me smile?

Turn around!
Look through me..
Look within me..
Look with me..

Smile...
Just like the way you make me smile..

Run with me....

For that nothing is worth running for alone...
Fly with me..
For that nothing can fly without two wings..

Only together we can..
Only together we will..

Thursday's #12

Four more Thursdays and this semester will end! Yippee?

This week was the most hectic! It started with me attending my first ever conference and present at it. The conference was under Association of International Business (MENA chapter).

So let me tell you what happened.

I arrived 10 minutes before my presentation, expecting to see some other students my age or at least someone local. As soon as I entered, reality hit me, you are the only local and you are the only undergraduate student here.

To tell you the truth, I was not nervous. Though everyone looked like an expert in their field and are doing this for the I don't know how many time, they seemed normal. Well, DUH, they are normal.

I entered my presentation room where there was 1 Italian professor, 2 Canadian PhD students, 2 Jordanian professors and one student that attended because she heard about me! *blushes*

Anyhow, the Jordanian Dr presented his presentation and once he did I felt great. Since he got a lot of criticism and he did not know how to handle it, I thought I'll do better Inshalla.

It was my time to present! I knew what I was talking about without looking at the slides. Yes it is my first conference paper and I felt the responsibility to give the greatest presentation! With the comments I got, Hemdella, I did it.

I was able to answer all questions with professionalism. It showed that this person is someone that understands what she does despite her age.

One great day that I will never forget! The conference really made me want my PhD more then ever! Oh, on my way back, I got a call from my teacher with all enthusiasm saying "You won best student paper". Unexpected, shocking but I can't deny how awesome it felt!

The library is becoming one of the places I am enjoying spending my time at!
My Thursday afternoons are spent doing more research

Note of the week
Whatever it is, you can do it!

Thursday's #11

This week passed by so quick that I can't believe its the weekend already! I am trying to remember what were some of this week's highlights but failing to!

Tomorrow is my sisters birthday and I decided to get her a parrot. She was very happy about it and that made me so happy.

On the other hand, tomorrow I am attending my first conference and presenting my first paper! I am very excited for tomorrow and hope it will go as planned!

This Saturday I am taking the IELTS exam for my graduate school applications! Aiming for the 8!

Quote of the Week
"But, I am not a provost yet!"

HAHA, yes I am quoting myself. Whenever someone is complaining regarding something related to higher education or the University, I pause and say, but I am not a provost "yet"! So can't do anything. =P

Kick Starter

http://www.kickstarter.com

I love the concept behind this website! People place their projects there (in need of support) and random people will support their projects until it's financed! Awesome way to kick-start!

One of my favorites the C-Loop #iSupport

Glee Performance

I absolutely applaud the directors of Glee for great reenactments of "Hey Soul Sister and Singing in the Rain". I've been playing them over and over when I want to chill.

The original of singing in the rain is very very awesome. I want to sing under the rain! \o/

Thursday's #10

This week was one full with celebration and despite it's ups and downs it ended finely. We are now in week 10, I think I miscalculated the weeks though since I feel it's been more then 10 weeks.

I am posting the Thursday's a day ahead, for some reason I felt the energy to do it today.

Anyways! I am pretty excited for next semester. For now, enjoy the videos and photographs!

-Morning preparations-
-This girl was such an angel!-
-Shakespeare and Co on campus, always wanted to visit it and it decided to visit me instead =p-

-The play "Shegah Mafroosha", very funny and entertaining!-

-Today's brunch, a meal for two :)! *we were so hungry!*-
-Everyday I see this by the University gate and I wonder, why haven't anyone bothered to fix it!-

Military band performance, they are very entertaining even though I see them each year!

I tried to not laugh when this band was performing. Whatever their performing is part of the culture that the "Shehi" family shares.

Enjoy your vacation everyone!
